Newcastle United comfortably beat Hull City 4-1 this afternoon at the KC stadium, but the game wasnt without controversy as Manager Alan Pardew appeared to head butt Hull City David Meyler as Steve Bruce looked on.

The game was end to end for much of it, with Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko opening the scoring in the 9th minute of the game, straight of the back of two attempts at goal by Alex Bruce and a spectacular double save by keeper Tim Krul.

In the 26th minute Jelavic missed a header from the middle of the box, assisted by Elmohamady.

Tiote was the first of five players to be booked (28) and was swiftly followed by team mate Yanga-Mbiwa also picking up a yellow card.

In the 39th Elmohamady missed an opportunity and in 40th minute Shane Long had a shot on goal assisted by Jelavic, but Newcastle took the break and Loic Remy made it 2-0 in the 41st minute of the game.

Hull City came out in the 2nd half and immediately put the ball into the back of the net. A Curtis Davies header assisted by Tom Huddlestone saw Hull pull a goal back, but it didn’t last for long as Sissoko made it three for Newcastle in the 54th minute of the game.

Jelavic was spoken to by the referee in the 57th minute of the game, having already pick up a yellow card just before Sissoko’s goal.

In the 72nd Alan Pardew came head to head with Hull City’s David Meyler in an unnecessary altercation which will no doubt dominate the back pages of tomorrow’s papers instead of the fact Newcastle scored 4 goals! Pardew was sent to the stands and will now be expecting to be punished by the FA, whilst Meyler picked up a yellow card for his efforts.

Newcastle United’s Vurnon Anita wrapped it up in injury time by putting the ball into the back of the net for his first Premier League goal and Newcastle’s fourth of the game.
