Gloucester scored twelve tries to rip apart Viadana, with hat-tricks from James Simpson-Daniel and born again Terry Fanolua. Despite the slaughter, Viadana managed to score four tries of their own, but the match finished Viadana 28 - 80 Gloucester. It was always going to be about how many points they could score, and the margin of victory could be important later in the competition. It was attack attack attack from Gloucester, who were often slack in defence but made up for it in tries.

Gloucester stretched ahead with a massive 14-45 half time lead, and never looked back. James Simpson-Daniel and Terry Fanolua both picked up hat-tricks, with Marcel Garvey scoring another wonder try. Henry Paul also picked up two, along with tries from Forrester, Boer and Roncero.

It wasn't all plain sailing though. Despite always being the underdogs, Viadana sometimes looked incredibly inventive in attack, and proved why they were Italian champions. Full Back Casper Steyn scored two tries, with Gordon Frasca and Mattia Dolcetta also going over.

Ludovic Mercier made the most of his opportunities, putting over an impressive 10 of the 12 conversions. Final Score: Viadana 28-80 Gloucester
