10. Hector Sam
The Saddlers beat off competition from a number of clubs to sign Trinidad and Tobago international Hector Sam in July 2006, following a successful trial at the club he put pen to paper to an initial one-year deal with an option to extend another year.
The lively striker, who possesses undoubted talent and ability was introduced to the English game by Wrexham when they paid £125 000 for the striker from San Juan Jabloteh during the summer 2000 and immediately became a fan’s favourite at the Welsh outfit.
Scoring a total of 40 goals in 176 appearances in all competitions for Wrexham, he was signed by Port Vale in the summer 2005 but the striker played only 4 games for Vale after he broke his leg early on in the campaign and was allowed to leave on a free transfer and decided to join fellow countryman, Clayton Ince to Bescot Stadium.
