1.5 Sport Development Plan [SDP] Outcomes

AREA CURRENT SITUATION REQUIRED SITUATION ACTION PLAN
Management 14 strong executive 8 member executive with four sub-committees by 2005. Rewrite constitution to recognise cricket, finance, facilities and junior committees.
Seniors 4 teams [62 members] 5 senior teams [75 members] by 2004. Growth through junior section.
Juniors 10 teams [70 members] 12 teams [85 members] by 2003. Growth through schools programme, Sport England and ECB accreditation branding and community coaching.
Women just constituted 2 teams [18 members] by 2003. Support ECDG Awards for All women’s cricket initiatives. Taster coaching sessions.
Facilities & Equipment small changing rooms with communal shower; limited disabled access; no storage space; inadequate umpire and scorer facilities; some practice facilities; no covers Sport England ‘preferred’ pavilion design. Larger changing rooms with dedicated showers; better disabled access; improved umpire and scoring facilities; more storage. Covers and full non-turf practice net [presently batting end only] by 2004. Members to contribute through the Friends of Sawley & Long Eaton Park CC scheme. Approach funding organisations including the banks, Erewash Borough Council and then the Lottery. Commercial Manager to approach local organisations to use facility.
Coaching Level II coaches [2 off] and Level I coaches [14 off] Level III [1 off], Level II [5 off] and Level I [12 off] by 2005. Appoint and train volunteer manager. Club’s own coaching education fund.
Fixtures 88 senior, 65 junior and five representative matches. 106 senior, 100+ junior, one cup final, six representative matches by 2004. Through more teams but also fuller and longer junior programme.
Community Coaching towards Bronze and Silver cricket proficiency awards for youngsters aged 7 to 12. Coaching towards Bronze, Silver and Gold awards for youngsters aged 7 to 14 by 2004. Disabled cricket at the club during 2003. Coaching organised with Erewash Sports Development Officer. Disabled cricketer’s festival in partnership with DCB and SSSA.
Membership 180 [132 playing] members 226 [178 playing] members by 2004. Additional 46 playing members [+33%]
