There's an old saying if football, "the sign of a good team is one that wins when they're not playing well" so god knows what the saying is when you've just played as badly as that. We were absolutly awful and why Keith didn't start with the strongest line-up possible is just ridiculous. However, the important thing is that we won and it's another 3 points closer to safety but anyone who seriously believes that we have a realistic chance of the playoffs, is having a laugh and even though we have 3 relatively (on paper) easy games coming up, we will still need to vastly improve to stand a chance of even getting Top 10.

I tend to like to give the youth team players a decent chance to prove themselves and I feel I've given Ollie Ryan long enough to show me that he isn't good enough to be in this team. He had the ball under control 11 times and he gave the ball away 9 times and despite setting up the goal (although via a deflection), he isn't good enough to warrant a first team spot. I hope he does go on to prove me wrong but he's had enough chances to make an impact now and god knows how many "sitters" he's missed.

I'm personally delighted for Gary Birch, it was funny how all the people who normally give Birch were all of a sudden singing his name. Birch is our top scorer for a reason and the abuse he has recieved from fans this season is not only not warranted, but it's quite unfair considering the laughable efforts of Derek Asamoah this season.

Oh and lastly, Christian Edwards. This defender was constantly slagging off the Imps for playing long ball all week but funnily enough, everytime Mr Edwards got the ball, several aeroplanes had to change their course, but then again, how could we possible question the opinion of the world-class defender, Christian Edwards?

"Birch has not been in the team just lately, he knuckled down and got his just-deserts and I'm thoroughly pleased for him. (Ollie) Ryan did ok but if I'm honest, we were poor today but it makes up for all those times earlier in the season where we played well but didn't get what we deserved."

Defensively I thought we were quite good, we restricted them to just a couple of chances, but the difference proved to be they took one of theirs and we didn't."

Lincoln's centre halves gave them a hard time, but they didn't do some of the things they normally do. We weathered an early storm and came on strong towards the end of the first half, and I thought at the start of the second half we could go on to win the game."

"I thought today was just one of those days. A majority of the time our first touch wasn't good enough, when it was the passes seemed to go astray and when the passes went where they were meant to, the receiving player had made a run. The pitch/conditions seemed to cause both teams problems but all the players knuckled down and we got 3 points. McCombe must have had his worse game for ages and Cryan was beginning to struggle before he moved into the centre. The midfield seemed better balanced when Freck came on and this move also seemed to lift Ryan. No where near a classic but 3 points, a clean sheet and two young lads getting more experience. The play offs are there for the taking but personnally I would not mind missing out (this season) if it means seeing the likes of Ryan,Frecks,Mettam and Wilkinson (What position dos he play?) being given more of a chance. This could save us a few bob in the summer if they show their true worth."

"Very disappointing result losing to such a poor side. Rovers generally the dominant side but didn't make the most of opportunities. Haldane was the main threat.
