Well all the drama seems to be dying now and the Imps finally get to their first home game of 2006 with the visit of struggling Barnet. It will be a great chance for the Imps to keep up with the playoff pack after the defence let us down yet again last week and quite frankly, the vast majority of fans won't start to relax unless we get 3 or 4 goals up and even then, history shows that big leads aren't enough against Barnet.

Barnet on the other hand, will be looking to repeat the result in their first league visit to Sincil Bank when Barnet set a record for an away side at Sincil Bank, winning 6-0.

Well Asamoah's gone so that means that all the strikers we have left will give their all for the club and after impressing many against Wrexham, Francis Green should continue to partner Yeo up front. Beevers and Morgan are still absent because of injury and they are joined by fellow defender, Paul Mayo. Steve Robinson get a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up due to the injury problems which force the Imps into changing formation into a possible 4-4-2 formation.

Since returning to the football league after a 4 year absense, Barnet made a fantastic start to their season and despite only drawing with Bristol Rovers, they did beat both Northampton and Carlisle away from home as well as Macclesfield at home. A fantastic performance in the Carling Cup at Bristol City saw Nick Bailey particulary impress as Barnet won 4-2. However, ever since then, Barnet had been on a slide.

Their first defeat of the season was at home to Grimsby before they also lost at Wrexham. A draw at Cheltenham was followed by a disappointing derby defeat to Leyton Orient at Underhill and the Wycombe took all 3 points off Barnet at the Causeway. However, they did progress in the Carling Cup with a 2-1 home win over Plymouth Argyle and as a reward, they were given the small task of MANCHESTER UNITED AT OLD TRAFFORD.

However, this only shadowed otherwise poor league form and Barnet drew their next 4 games with Rochdale, Shrewsbury, Oxford and Torquay but Chester the confidently beat the Bees 3-1. Bristol City made a visit to Underhill in the LDV and for a second time, were beaten but this time by just a 3-2 scoreline before a 4-0 thumping at Mansfield. The Manchester United game was as over as the 3rd minute when United went ahead and Barnet had already had their keeper sent off, the final score was 4-1. However, Barnet did record a long overdue league win with a home win over Rushden.

An FA Cup exit at home to Southend was followed by a Sunday lunchtime trip to Stockport for a game live on Sky and in a very boring game, it finished 1-1 and then they extended their small unbeaten run with a home win over Torquay. A 3-0 home defeat to MK Dons in the LDV was followed by a 2-1 defeat at home to Bristol Rovers.

Draws againsts Bury and Macclesfield sandwiched a home defeat by Northampton but boxing day saw a win over Peterborough and despite a midweek defeat to Darlington, Barnet made it 2 wins in 6 days against Imps' local rivals when they beat Boston. Last week saw them lost at Notts County before a 1-1 home draw with Cheltenham on Tuesday night.
