A last minute goal save an undeserved point for Wrexham but things are starting to look up for a battling Imps' side. Although 2 wins in 9 doesn't sound that good, this draw meant just 1 defeat and if the Imps' do perform well like against Wrexham, then we will move up the table soon.

There are many positives to be taken from the draw at Wrexham and the fact we almost beat a team higher than us in the table but no-matter what Denis Smith says, there's no way that Wrexham deserved a point and if Smith thinks they deserved a win then he seriously needs to go down to an optician.

 

The return of Francis Green didn't go un-noticed and he ran around all game and put in effort that would have seen him run 2 marathons, there wasn't a single blade of grass that wasn't cleared by Green and his pass to Yeo, although lucky, was one of the passes of the season and hopefully Green will get a chance to earn a new contract.

 

The effort of the team was excellent but again, it was the defence who let us down. In all fairness, I did wait to see the highlights until writing this just to confirm what I had originally thought and I was right, not a single defender tried to tackle Jones (the goalscorer), made even more irritating was that 3 of them were within a year of him and only Dean Keates made a tackle once Jones won the ball, this just goes to prove that it will take more than Yeo to improve our stuttering season.

 

Interesting enough, in 2002/3 we beat Wrexham 2-0 away and it was 1-1 at home, 3 years later and the same results but the other way around, could this be an omen? One worry thing is that Keith's saying that we've only lost 1 in 9, ignoring that we've only won 2 of those.

Denis Smith, Wrexham manager, for the second time in 2 visits to the Racecourse, he was obviously watching a different game to everyone else.
