Reaction to the Boston game

On the plus, it was another game unbeaten, on the negative, we failed to win a game which we controlled for long periods. Overall, despite not scoring, there were many reasons to be positive about the game, however, I'm going to focus on something completely different, a certain selfish player.

In terms of performance, I'm relatively pleased, we controlled large periods of the game and other than failing to score, it was a fairly satisfactory afternoon. I was extremely impressed with Luke Foster, who again produced an excellent performance and must surely have put himself in contention for a regular starting place in the line up, however, I'm going to focus my comments on something else.

I've finally had enough, Derek Asamoah is crap and he is the most selfish player in the entire football league. I lost count of how many times we were through 3 on 2 against them and both defenders were near him and instead of passing the ball to either of the other strikers, he tries to beat both defenders but then stops and tries to go around them again and he loses the ball.

It isn't just this game, it's every single match and overall, he's been a perfect waste of £10,000 (or whatever it was). Everyone can argue that he sets up every other players, what a lot of crap, virtually every single ball he plays goes straight to an opposition player. There's no point in winning the ball if you're just going to give it straight back. If it wasn't for him, the other strikers would score more because they might have a chance of getting the ball at some point.

He is truly awful and quite frankly, if Keith doesn't drop him when Yeo comes back on the 2nd, then there is something seriously wrong.

We should have had 2 penalties before Boston's claim, why is everyone saying it was a foul? Our two were exactly the same, a player backing into another player, it was exactly the same as ours so if we didn't get a penalty, then neither should they."

"I think the penalty was not quite "nailed on" - but I've seen them given... . Pretty average pair of teams I thought.  McCann and Thomas gave us a few things to think about in the first half down the left but I thought Boston offered very little in the second.  We probably would have won with a half decent striker. Your keeper made a few good saves - but Richard Logan should have buried a couple of second half sitters. Haven't heard any post match interviews - most managers talk tosh in these anyway.  As for ##### on the touchline I thought he was funny - though I've feeling if I'd been a Boston fan, embarrassed might have been nearer the truth. " Vancover Imp

!I thought Logan was still our most potent forward today, and has been over the last few games. Birch looks, over weight, sluggish and disinterested to me. Maybe he is carrying a knock, though he shouldn't be playing if he is. Asamoah is very frustrating, I agree he needs to be less selfish,he has all the pace and skills in the world, but can't find the back of the net for toffee. Fingers crossed we can get a couple of new front men in the January window, Yeo for me would replace Asamoah, Birch needs to buck his ideas up otherwise a spell on the bench wouldn't hurt." awimps
