We bring you our usual reaction to a match and this time, it's the dull-a-thon that was Lincoln's 1-0 win at Oxford. It was an extremely bad game to say the least, but it does extend the Imps' unbeaten run to 4 games and we're slowly sneaking up the table and furthur from relegation

I'm going to steal an Ian Hollogway quote to describe tonight's match.

To put it in gentleman's terms, if you've been out for a night and you're looking for a young lady and you pull one, you've done what you set out to do. We didn't look our best but we've pulled. Some weeks the lady is good looking and some weeks they're not. Our performance today would have been not the best looking bird, but at least we got her in the taxi. She may not have been the best looking lady we ended up taking home, but it was still very pleasant and very nice, so thanks very much and let's have coffee.

Right, enough of that, if I'm being perfectly honest, the game against Oxford was one of the worst games of football I've ever seen. It lacked any really quality and it wasn't helped by two teams to seemed perfectly happy to punt the ball to each other and if the game had ended 0-0, it would have been a true reflection on the game. It was a diabolical match. Truly awful.

However, as Mr Holloway indicated, a win's a win no matter how you get it.

 "We weren't at our best but I feel it makes up for all those performances earlier in the season where I thought we did reasonably well and didn't get a result. I've been happy with the performances over the last 5 or 6 weeks and I don't think the results have been fair on the performance"

"We've started putting a run together but now with Dean Keates and Scott Kerr out of the squad via suspension, we'll see just how good the squad are"

 

"We have lost four home games on the trot and that is a big concern now. We are out of the FA Cup, and our league form is poor. It is a concern for everybody. I have tried most things but I suppose the only thing I haven't done is change the goalkeeper, and personally from where I was I thought he should have done better for the goal."

"No chance of promotion and talk of building for next season sounds vaguely familiar. Can't see Wycombe or Northampton slipping up. If we continue to lose games like this we could be joining Farnborough in the Conference with crowds of 1000 the norm--where will be then?" Peter Devo

"We are playing well beneath our means right now and it pains me to even be playing the likes of you on a regular basis, never mind losing to you. But at the end of the day, you have found your level, and you will never have the catchment area or foundations to progress any further as a club.

We still have our ambitions to return to Tier 2, and although it looks very, very far away at the moment, we can and will eventually get back up there and wipe our arse on club's like yours on the way past." Fantastic Mr Ox
