Lincoln City won an extremely poor game, 1-0 thanks to a 79th minute headed goal from on loan striker, Richard Logan. The game was lacking in seriously quality and it was definatly a game dominated by balls being played high in the air, however, I certainly won't be complaining about an away win

Oxford kicked off the game and went immediatly on the attack and forced the first opening of the game but Matt Robinson's 30 yard effort left a lot to be desired as it trickled along the ground and straight into Marriott's arms. However, play quickly shifted down the other end of the pitch when Mayo booted the ball forward and Asamoah couldn't get the ball under control before Billy Turley claimed the ball easily.

Oxford continued to control the opening period but couldn't force an opening against a Lincoln side that were launching the ball into the Oxfordshire air as often as possible. However, despite Oxford's early control, it was the Imps who were carving out the lmited chances and on 10 minutes, the Imps won a free kick 30 yards out. Kerr took the free kick and it flew into the box and was met by the head of Gary Birch, but the ball sailed against the bar.

Oxford took the ball down the other of the pitch and won a corner, however, the delivery was poor, however, when Oxford tried bring the ball forward again, Beevers went in with a sliding tackle from the front and won the ball, however, Willmott's rather theatrical reaction earnt Beevers a conversation with the referee.

20 minutes had passed before City's first corner of the game, it came when Mayo's cross was headed out for a corner. The ball was delivered but headed over from close range by McCombe. Chances again became few and far between and it took a furthur 13 minutes for the next decent chance to come along. A heavily packed Imps box forced Barry Quinn to shoot from long range, however the effort, much like Oxford's last long range effort, left a lot to be desired as the midfielder struck well wide of the target.

The crowd has to wait a furthur 5 minutes until City won a corner after comical defending, however, Turley caught the delievery before going berserk at his defenders. That proved the final incident of the first half.

Much like the first, the second took a while to get going and that only to book Chris Hargreaves for a hard tackle on McAuley, who had gone off for treatment several times during the first half. Barry Quinn again tried his luck from distance but it went wide, as did his next long range effort just 2 minutes later.

Asamoah than had a chance to scored his second in two games when he broke free of the defence, however, his shot went just wide of the goal. Hackett replaced Willmost for the home side. Again the chances were few and far between the next came in the 67th minute and rather unsurprisingly it fell to Oxford. Infact, they came extremely close to opennig the scoring as Robinson tried to take advance of City's inability to clear a corner when he sent a hammer towards goal, however, Marriott got down well and made a vital save.

City hit the bar again when City won a free kick 30 yards out. Kerr sent the ball in deep and it was heading straight for Turley, however, Lee Beevers snook in and took a shot which came back off the bar. McAuley headed a 74th minute corner wide and it looked like being one of those games. However, 5 minutes later City won a corner. Kerr crossed the ball in and Richard Logan rose and headed the ball into the net for his 2nd goal of his loan spell, it would also be his last as his loan deal expired on Saturday.

Birch was reaplced by Robinson, however, it was his strike partner, Asamoah who strayed offside when he had a great oppurtunity to score. The final action of the rather uninspiring game was Marriott saving a Hargreaves effort and City went on to record back to back league victories for the first time all season.
