It can only get better...................can't it?

Following an incredibly poor performance by the Imps that saw them lucky to get a point, we ask, will we ever win again? City have not won just 4 of the 26 games so far this season and we're slowly but surely sneaking closer to the drop zone, not that Keith Alexander has noticed.

The game against Macclesfield could very well go down as the worst performance by the squad this season and despite winning a point, and even leading for 70 seconds, the Imps played awfully today and if it wasn't for Gareth McAuley's header, which he probably didn't know much about, then I would currently be writting about another Lincoln defeat.

Mick McCarthy said a quote during the week, which should apply to half the Lincoln squad, "If you're not capable, of passing the ball 20 yards to someone in the same shirt as you, then you shouldn't be playing at this level". This quote is relevant because god knows how many times the ball was given away and half the squad, simply aren't good enough for this division and they won't be in this division soon, and they'll have dragged City down with them.

The only time the players appeared to care was in between the 2 goals, before and after, it was pure and utter crap and how Macclesfield, who weren't exactly world beaters themselves, didn't go away from Sincil Bank with more than a point, is quite frankly puzzling.

I hope certain players are looking forward to the trips to Tamworth, Forest Green and Canvey Island next season because unless they start pulling their finger out and start giving a damn, we'll be relegated.

 

"We're having a bit of a poor spell. The crowd are getting a bit anxious every time a pass goes astray and I thought we struggled in the first half.

"Some of our passing at times left a lot to be desired but that's what happens when you're struggling.

"I thought we did better in the second half and we always looked like getting something out of the game."

"I though we did a very thorough professional job. We restricted Lincoln and hit them on the break.

"Lincoln looked like they were never going to score (I hope you read this bit Keith) but then a free-kick decision went their way.

"It was never going to be an easy game for us but at the end we were only denied a win because their keeper made two wonderful saves.

"We just have to keep going. We aren't playing badly at the moment."

"Thought the lads put in a good, determined performance today, especially in the first half when we out played city. But even when we went behind we still came forward and didn't give up."
