Saturday saw City take a point from Northampton but everyone at the game said that the Imps deserved to take all 3. City controlled the game against a physical Northampton game and it was a far far cry from the rubbish seen at Northampton last week, let's hope this kick starts our season.

I thought I'd paid to watch a football match but I ended up watching the Northampton Town version of the movie "Fight Club", only Rochdale have rivalled them for being a team full of big, violent players and at least one of them didn't get sent off I'll never know.
Overall, a point it's too bad considering the form we've been on, however, anyone who thinks that we didn't deserve all 3 obviously wasn't at the game. We coped well under pressure and Marriott and Morgan played well for the first time in ages, the latter yet again keeping the opposition's star striker question.
Their goal did have a feeling of inevitability about it but this draw will give the players confidence heading into Saturday's game with Macclesfield Town.
Also, on another note, Terry Peacock, former columist for this website attended today's game (in his Huddy shirt) and thought City played well but were just unlucky, he was also delighted with Huddy's win over Forest.

"We deserved the 3 points but we didn't get them. That's how it's been going for us. We'd have all taken a point and of course, we're all disappointed to only get the one but I thought we played very very well and I'm delighted with the performance. Now we've just got to build on it."
"Having Dean Keates in your squad gives you something extra and it's nice to see Birch back in the goals"

"Lincoln started well but we didn't compete for the first 15 minutes. Lincoln were excellent and we allowed them to get something to cling onto. Because of their work, we did not play with any fluency or tempo. I thought we played better second half and I'm pleased to take a point from a poor performance"
"We did not play well, no excuses"
Colin Calderwood, manager, Northampton Town.

"This was always going to be a difficult game and a draw isnt THAT bad i suppose. "
"I also thought Lincoln came with a much less physical approach this year, by god they even played some football in the first half, if Cheltenham can beat them 4-1 why exactly or what exactly have we got to be afraid of from them?"
"Again were very lucky not to drop too far down (8th). But for the first time i shouted at CC, "sort it out or f*** off" Its the McGleish thing thats pissing me off most,McGleish for acting like a kid when being left out, and CC for reinstating him strait away. players have to earn a place in the side Strikers do this by scoring goals, not defending corners, Macca isnt doing the former at the moment therefore even Cross should be ahead of him not less Mendes "
"Lincoln deserved to win the game: they closed us down all afternoon and we panicked on the ball. They created far more chances than we did and once again we showed we cannot defend set pieces effectively. "
