We bring your our usual selection of random quotes and photos regarding Saturday's away win at Rochdale's Spotland. Marvin Robinson and Nat Brown secured the Imps' first away win in 16 attempts but that was only half the story as City seemed to get a ref on their side for the first time this season.

Do my eyes decieve me or did we score more goals than the home side? In all fairness, I wasn't expecting to even get a point out of this game (as Rochdale programme editor - Mark Wilbraham will tell you) but I'm delighted to take all 3 points. In the past 14 days, we've faced 3 of the top 4 at the beginning of that period and I'd have taken 4 points if you'd offered them to me, so hopefully the Imps will take this result and build on it in our next league game against Shrewsbury in 2 weeks.
To be fair, the game was thought between 2 fairly dirty teams, with some Rochdale players acting like they've just come in off the street and although it was nice to have a referee give most decisions our way for once, it did spoil the game a bit as a spectacle but an away win is a good result, especially against one of the stronger teams in the division.
Marvin Robinson is giving Keith something to think about. Since coming into the squad, Marvin has bossed the attack and scored twice, making him one of the top scorers at the club and he has arguably been our best player in that time period, so many people's predictions that he would be released in January are now not likely to come true.

"We've been playing alright over the last 3 or 4 weeks, or possibly even longer without getting any luck and this is a great place to come and get a result. They were in form and I think we were well worth the points"
"Rochdale are up there on merit. They're a big squad and they constantly try and get the ball up to their strikers and we had to make sure we were on our game."
"We've played all the so-called top sides now and I don't think anyone has outplayed us."

"First half, fantastic with us bossing the game in my eyes. Probably could have scored 4 times in the first half and they only began to create chances once they were down to 10 men." Wholey
"I'm surprised how quick Rochdale were to hoof it up to Lambert and Holt, bloody hoof ball merchants them Rochdalians, so much for the Brazilesque passing the ball into the goal they witness ever other week at the Stade de Spotland" LincolnImp

The officials today were as bad as they have been in recent years. Even the little things were handled very poorly. One example came in the last 5 minutes. Holt was fouled, and the ref allowed the advantage - now the advantage saw Sturrock clear in the box, and at this point the ref blew his whistle for the free kick. Now if this was not an advantage, I don't know what is." Col_RochdaleAFC.com
"As for the football we were two-nil down to two sloppy goals before we started playing and it was always going to be uphill from then on even with eleven; second half was much better and we might even have grabbed a point. No doubt most will be content to blame the officials but we need a more dominant goalkeeper (not necessarily a different one!), and we need to learn the difference between commitment and violence."
