It's been a big day for City
By Nathan Jackson July 31 2005
Lincoln City's Community Day was held on Sunday and was a good success despite a 1-0 defeat to Grimsby Town. It was City's first non-trophy loss of the pre-season but failed to shine from the overall day which saw the launching of the new away kit which has turned out to be very popular indeed.

The day started at 10pm and City fans were invited down for many activities included tours of the stadium, a rally car, and several bouncy castles for the youngens'. However, the main attraction of the day was the launching of the new away kit which has proven to be extremely popular indeed. The kit was lunched by X-Factor duo, "2 Go To" who were two of the nicest people I've ever spoken to, very down to earth people and we here at theimps.tk wish them luck in their career.

As far as the game was concerned. A solitary strike from Parkinson was enough to send the Imps down to their first (non-trophy) defeat of the pre-season. City had plenty of oppurtunities to score but 3 strikes of the woodwork, several excellent stops and some clearances off the line prevented the Imps from getting a goal.
