Second best Imps win again
By Nathan Jackson July 27 2005
Despite Rotherham controlling the friendly, City still came away with a satisfactory 1-0 victory after a 3rd minute OG. Rotherham had the majority of the play and had a lot of set pieces but their overall failure to capitalise on chances cost them dear after the defensive blunder.

A cross in the 3rd minute was cleared back out to Keates who crossed the ball back in and Phil Gilcrist did a brilliant attacking header past his own keeper in what turned out to be the only goal of the game.

Rotherham near enough controlled the game but never really looked like scoring and City should have really added a second but the familiar story of Francis Green missing an easy oppurtunity came true again.

Several Imps players really impressed, Nat Brown more than any other as he won ball after ball and never looked like tiring. It's now 9 wins from the 10 pre-season games so far with the other being a defeat on penalties against Horncastle (it was the youth team)
