Last Season The least successful club in the football league had quite a good season by their standards. Although it took them a while to get going, they starting winning a lot of games in the November time and started pushing up the league and even got into a position they haven't been used to recently, a top 10 position. Infact, after a 5-1 thumping at Northampton, they went on a 5 game winning run and a run of only 2 defeats in 15 games, however, in true Rochdale style, that run also including only 1 win in 8.
Rochdale's main problem last season, was their inconsistency and mainly their inability to win away. Infact, in a similar way to City, they didn't lose at home in 2005, however, they didn't win away and that really says it all about them. However, they did end their season with a 7 game unbeaten run, 5 of those being draws.
This season? Rochdale's season will depend on how they cope with inconsistancy. The most important thing as far as they're concerned is that they managed to keep Holt, however, if he keeps up his goalscoring form, he'll more than likely go somewhere else.
Rochdale has the ability to beat anyone on their day but they also have the ability to get absolutly mullered as well.
Prediction 13th, they could very well be contenders for the playoffs if they managed to keep hold of Holt but chances are they won't and the inconsistancy will see them finish midtable.
