Bury are still asking "Graham who"
By Nathan Jackson July 13 2005
One of the few former FA Cup winning teams in the division could be set for yet another negative season. Ever since their playoff campaign in 2002/3, they've been on a downslide, something that manager, Graham Barrow, appears no-where near solving.

Name Bury

Location Bury, Manchester

Manager Graham Barrow

Ground Name Gigg Lane

Capacity 11,840

Address Gigg Lane, Bury

Main Telephone No 0161 7644881

Last Season Bury were tipped by a fair few people, to possibly be a playoff chasing team and despite being the leading goalscorers in the early season with 14 goals in their opening 6 games, the never really challenged the playoffs. Halfway through the season, they went on a run of only 1 win in 16 games and at one point, were favourites to be relegated. However, they never really came close to the bottom 2 and settled for midtable medicrity.

This season? 18 months ago, Bury hired Graham Barrow and people were saying "Graham who" and 18 months on, people are still asking that question. No disrespect to Barrow but if anything, he's made Bury fall in terms of quality. Bury are one of those sides that one their day, are amoungst the best in the division and have always proven to be bogey sides against the teams at the top, however, I'd be very surprised if they even "barge poled" the promotion chasing pack.

Prediction 20th, I have nothing against Bury, infact, I kind of like them in a way and have probably the most interesting ground in the division (purely based on the differences in all the stands) but anything better than a relegation battle would be extremely fortunate.
