High flying Orient come to town
By Nathan Jackson October 22 2004
The Imps face high flying Orient and only a win for the Imps will do if we're to maintain a promotion bid. It may be a bit early to rule out a playoff place but after a 7 game unbeaten run, you'd expect to be higher than 16th.

INTRODUCTION

The Imps go into Saturday's game facing 3rd placed, Leyton Orient. City haven't lost in 7 league games but 5 of those, have been draws and the Imps currently lay in 16th place.

The Imps, could could move into the playoffs with a win against Orient but results would have to go our way in an unbelieveable way. If it's anything like recently, a win will move the Imps up 1 place like it always seems to do.

+TEAM NEWS FOR THE IMPS

The Imps are seriously down on man-power. Ex-Orient player, Gary Taylor-Fletcher is a major doubt with yet another injury, Ben Futcher is suspended and Raynor is injured. Chances are McCombe will rpelace Futcher in defence but other than that, it should be as you were.

LEYTON ORIENT

Orient are suprising everyone at the minute. Having started with a 3-1 defeat against Macclesfield the Orient went on an impressive run which has only seen them lose two games since, both away games at Grimsby (2-0) and Swansea (1-0).

They have an impressive travelling record winning at Cheltenham, Kidderminster, Notts County (all 2-1) whilst drawing away at Northampton (2-2)

However, it could be tough for Orient considering their top scorer and most influencial player, Gary Alexander is injured and out for a month.

PREVIOUS RESULTS AGAINST LEYTON ORIENT

Leyton Orient haven't beaten Lincoln whilst Keith Alexander in charge. Both the home games against Orient have been incredibly bad. However, the Imps recent record against Orient isn't particully good considering we've only won 1 of the matches against Orient since the beginning of the millenium and the results include a 5-0 defeat just two weeks after Orient beat the Imps 2-1 in the second round of the FA CUP
