A ground that is only made more shocking by the fact that top flight football was played here 15 years ago. It is a very un-eyecatching ground and thank god Swansea are getting a new ground, let's hope they can keep the atmosphere though. DATE : SATURDAY 25TH JANUARY 2003

METHOD OF TRAVEL : I went on the coach with the rest of the crew. The coach left Sincil Bank at 8am and we got to Vetch Field at the really early time of half 12. Erm, around 250 miles in 3 3/4 (after you take the 45 minute break away), I get a feeling someone was breaking a few speed limits.

PRE MATCH ATMOSPHERE : Swansea were bottom, bottom by a very very long way and hadn't won in a long time so the 100 or so Imps fans that made the trip to South Wales were quite confident.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE GROUND: If you're a purist, you'll love this ground, it's "old school" with two of the biggest terraces still around anywhere in the world.

The stand we were in was the big terrace behind the goal. This, although there was very little blocking the view from where we were, offered a very poor view of the game due to the pitch being very large and it was hard seeing what was going on at the other end.

The stand to our left was the big terrace which was completely full. This stand, was however, visually un-inspiring and reminded me a bit of one of the stands at Craven Cottage before it got redeveloped.

The far stand was a very odd prospect. It was obvious Swansea had tried to make the ground seating all the way around with some terracing but they couldn't get planning permission and are now stuck with a 2/3 stand. The bottom half of this is terracing whilst the rest is a very large seated area.

The final stand to our right was a small seated area that ran all the way across the pitch and was in dire need of a paint job.

ATMOSPHERE FROM CITY FANS : We were quite poor and never really got going due to our very restricted numbers.

ATMOSPHERE FROM THE SWANSEA FANS : What an atmosphere. By far the best I have encountered by such a "small" number of fans.

PROGRAMME QUALITY : Not the best but was definatly worth a read and a good value at £2
