City were missing Paul Mayo (after his move to Watford), Ben Futcher (suspension), Bailey, Butcher and Fletcher (all injury) and had to field a reserve like team to replace them.
City however, took the lead after only 3 minutes when Marcus Richardson's battling in the box resulted and his shot sneaking under Higgs and SLOWLY going into the net.
Cheltenham began to dominate and made it tell after about 30 minutes. Liburd handled right on the edge of the area and got booked. From the resulting free kick, Grant McCann scored one of the best free kicks a lot of people will ever see.
Cheltenham continued to dominate and then came Liburd. When you've just sold your left back and your only other person who could possibly be a left back is put there, the last thing he should do is tackle a player from behind when that player hasn't even got the ball. Well done Richard.
However, City were soon ahead again. Richardson ran into the box and was shoulder barged by McCann. Richardson did make it look a bit Heskeyish in the way he went down. He got up and barely managed to sneak the ball into the net.
City didn't deserve to be in the lead and Cheltenham battered us in the 2nd half. It was a suprise their dominance only turned into goals in the 88th minute when former City player, John Finnigan smashed the ball past Marriott and the crowded box.
The game seemed to be heading for a 2-2 draw BUT with no cover on the left, a cross was delivered of Odejay powered a header past Marriott.
