Gogin to Swansea, I wasn't particully confident of a result due to Swansea's excellent home record of 5 wins out of 5.
City started the game the brighter but neither team could muster any real chances. The first chance came on about 10 minutes when a Richard Liburd shot went hidiously wide.
The resulting goal kick went straight to Mark Bailey who crossed the ball in, Freestone dropped the cross, Richardson shot but hit a defender and Richard Butcher came and smashed the ball into the net to silence the 7820 home fans.
There was a feeling of shock around the ground just minutes later when Richard Duffy handled in the area. Paul Mayo stepped up and slotted the ball to Freestone's bottom left.
City fans went into delirium and Swansea's fans had all of a sudden gone extremely quiet. However, they were cheering minutes later when a decent move by Swansea resulted in Andy Robinson's 20 yard shot flying past Marriott into the back of the net.
That was the only decent chance Swansea created in the half and City could have even gone into the break 3-1 up. A Ben Futcher header only yards out appeared to cross the line before Kristian O'Leary cleared it but whether it was over the line will be a debate for a LONG time.
The 2nd half started the opposite to the first with Swansea on the "all out attack" mode they had be famed for recently and could have leveled numerous times. 2 high challenges by Paul Mayo in the space of 30 seconds resulted in City's 2nd red card of the season and Mayo will now miss the home game at Huddersfield in 2 weeks time.
That was certainly the turning point and Swansea quickly levelled. A low Lee Trundle shot deflected off Ben Futcher and into the back of the net.
Lincoln could have quickly moved back into the lead as Marcus Richardson's 20 yard shot smashed against the bar.
City defended for their lives and were very rarely in the final third of the Swansea half. A shot in injury time from a Swansea player grazed the bar but City held on for a well earned point.
So now it's 8 games without defeat but only 3 wins in that time. This was also the 3rd draw in a row. Obviously we'll get 3 points when we travel to Scumthorpe next week so let's get the disco planned.
