Another cheese-monkey steals points for Bury

Another extremely poor referee stole points from the Imps by awarding a last minute penalty for the ball hitting Futcher's hands as he was turning away from the ball and his hands were at his side
For once, I was quite confident of a City win but was yet again disappointed after an incredibly poor refereeing performance. 2-1 to the referee sums it up the best. At one point three players where all hanging off Futcher's shoulders trying to hold him down and Bury got a free kick because apparantly he was trying to upend them. All fairness to Bury, they played hard and deserved a point BUT not all 3.

The game started slowly with neither side seeming willing to made an impact. The first decent chance came when Gary Fletcher shot over the bar from 20 yards. City then managed to score for the first time this season after Gary Fletcher intercepted a pass and ran half the length of the pitch, ran round the keeper and despite the best efforts of the defender, it went into the goal.

Fletcher then also made it two on numerous occassions but good saves from Garner kept it a 1-0. In fact, in the 2nd half, Garner kept Bury in the game so much it was unbelieveable. At one point, Simon Yeo shot, it hit a defender and fell to Cropper to managed to flick it but Garner just managed to get a leg to it.

Bury drew level from a corner which was headed in by Unsworth. City then almost immediatly retook the league but Garner made yet another good save.

By this time, the referee was really being a complete bastard. He was giving everything to Bury. Yeo got elbowed in the face but the free kick was given to Bury as it was deemed Yeo had hurt the player's elbow. This was just a mild example of how much of a complete tosser he was being.

With 2 minutes injury time indicated, Yeo struck wide before the ball went up the other end, Weaver headed it off for a corner. THe corner was headed out to the wing. It was hit back in but hit Futcher's arm even though he was turning round and his arms were at his side. This was met violently by City players. Andy Preece struck the penalty and then the whistle was blown almost immediatly. All of City's players and coaching staff poured onto the pitch with very loud booing from the City faithful, all was towards the referee.

Bury deserved a point but to lose a game like that is a complete load of absolute Buckley. The referee was a complete arse-monkey.

Man Of The Match - Gary Fletcher produced a very good performance.
