Where do you think you're going : Rochdale
By Nathan Jackson June 9 2007
City will make yet another trip to Spotland to take on Rochdale. You'd have to go back 7 years to find the last game here that ended as a draw, since then City have won 4 of the 6 meetings. It's a good ground but a lack of atmosphere and some "sore-loser" fans means that this away day isn't exactly one of the most enjoyable on the League 2 if you plan on taking young children.

Ahh Rochdale, one of the few sides that have had a longer run of consecutive years at this level than we have and we will get the joys of Spotland again. Infact, Rochdale came very close to escaping the division last season, losing the Playoff final against Stockport County.

City fans get the best stand at Rochdale but that's the only bright spot of the day with Spotland having a very timid atmosphere and several Rochdale fans assaulting City fans after the Imps have beaten them. Infact, the slow children of Rochdale don't seem to understand it when you've just beaten them.

There are a few pubs around the ground that permit away fans. There are two at the ground but the next to their terraced stand isn't keen on away fans based on my past experience, the nearest alternative being less than a minute's walk away and that is about 30/40 seconds past the away end. This pub can get extremely cramped though as it is not very large.

This is located right next to the car park but in the likely event that you don't have a permit, street parking is your only option. To get to the ground exit the M62 at Junction 20. At the end of the A627 head into the left hand lane and go straight over the Roundabout. Go straight ahead at the crossroads and then you're on the road that the ground is on, it's just a case of finding a place to park. If that fails then there's plenty of other streets to park on in the local area.

require you to leave Lincoln and to go to a different station so it's best to check the national rail website to make your journey. To get back head from Rochdale to Leeds via the Northern Rail Service. On the earlier service you catch the train down to Doncaster from here and go to Lincoln from there. On the later train you go to Leeds, then Newark and up to Lincoln. All returns cost £31.10.

The ground is a heft walk from the station so it's probably best to get a taxi.
