A full-on rant about the home defeat by Wrexham

I've tried to be optimistic recently but I've now had enough, it's now time for a full-on rant following that shockingly bad display against Wrexham. After bottling up my true frustrating for several months I've finally decided to release it all because quite frankly, I've had enough of being nice.

The dictionary defines disappointing as : not up to expectations; "a disappointing performance from one who had seemed so promising"

The dictionary defines poor as : inadequate: not sufficient to meet a need;

The dictionary defines self-destruct as : A self-destruct is a mechanism which causes a device to destroy itself under a predefined set of circumstances.

Yep, that all sounds like Lincoln City’s performances since October. I said recently that I was going to try and be optimistic about the rest of the season but the absolute crap-a-thon that the players are producing at the minute means it’s impossible to be optimistic. What is there to be optimistic about? Even if we do finish in the playoffs we’re only going to lose them because this team lacks desire. I don’t care what John Schofield says because the lackluster and effortless displays that this team have been putting in for months now. Maybe we’re not a good side that are having a bad run, maybe we’re an atrocious side that has a good run but then turned back into their natural crap selves.

John Schofield has said several times in recent weeks that he’s proud of the players, what the hell is there to be proud of? I’m not proud of Ryan Amoo ALWAYS giving the damn ball away, I’m not proud that Dany N’Guessan is a complete pile of wank on a football pitch, I’m not proud that Nicky Eaden suddenly can’t defend to save his life. The only outfield player who deserves to have pride in himself in Paul Morgan, at least he has the brains to get out of Lincoln before we turn into a side fighting against relegation to the Conference next season.

Ryan Amoo is one of the most useless players on the team. What type of supposed “professional” footballer just gives up when he sees another player near him. What sort of “professional” footballer can’t pass the ball 5 feet without it going to an opposition player. Amoo lacks the stomach for a battle and it comes as little surprise that the opposition score so often when they counter attack down the side he is on.

If Jeff Hughes is worth a reported £425,000 then someone obviously has missed a decimal point after the 4. How many times today did he pull out of a challenge allowing the Wrexham players to just run with the ball into our own half. I first noticed this way back in September and nothing has changed at all. Jeff Hughes is a lightweight who thinks he’s better than he actual is. I can count on one hand how many decent contributions to the match he made, and I’d still be wasting as least 3 fingers.

Dany N’bloodyGuessan, has he actually done a single thing right since he came to this club? Why the hell did we buy him when he couldn’t get into the starting line up at Boston United. Surely the fact he couldn’t get in the first 11 at a team at the bottom of the league would lead you believe he wasn’t any good, and you’d be right. His lack of effort is second to none, just like Hughes’ contributions, you could count the beads of sweat that N’Guessan’s produced since he came to this club on one hand and again you’d be wasting several fingers. This side is much better when this poor excuse for a “professional” isn’t in the squad.

John Schofield has brought a load of crap into this club in recent months and is dropping players in the middle of fine form for no reason to make way for his favourites. Adie Moses was having a great time earlier this season and then he’s dropped for no good reason and I can’t blame him for reportedly wanting to leave. At least 3 of the starting 16 today don’t belong anywhere near our first team, and what makes it worse is that we’re stuck with the likes of N’Guessan for another 2 years after this.

Schofield seems to be a master of fixing things that aren’t broken. Earlier this season we were playing beautiful football, but then Schofield must of thought that this tactic wasn’t good enough and we started to hoof it all the time, and our problems started there and Schofield’s tactics book seems to be able to fit onto someone’s thumbnail. “Right, Nat you boot it up the other end of the field, Jamie, you run towards it.” Your tactics are crap at the minute Schofield.

I wish Keith Alexander was back in charge, at least he had the guts to have a go at his players when they played crap, not to put his arm around them and give them a hug. With Alexander you knew the players would fight until the very last minute and even if they lost, the effort wouldn’t stop and you’d always stand a chance of getting something out of the game. Keith Alexander could spot a decent player but wouldn’t drop a player inform to make way for them. I criticized Alexander sometimes but I would gladly have him back as manager because at least he stood by the majority of what he said.

We just got outplayed by a side that could be heading into the Conference, it’s not even just a 1 off, it’s been happening for months now. Wrexham, Mansfield, Hereford, Bury, Macclesfield Town and Boston United are all sides that are comfortably in the bottom half of the table and have beaten us this season. We only barely beat Torquay twice, with only a complete fluke preventing a defeat at Plainmoor and an undeserved 1-0 win a few months back at Sincil Bank. Not to forget Barnet, we were incredibly fortunate to come out of there with a win.

We were incredibly fortunate to win at Walsall after being second best for the second half. We were incredibly lucky not to lose at Hartlepool. Bury should have beaten us at Gigg Lane. We were rubbish at MK Dons and fluked a draw.

Earlier this season the players made this a club to be proud to support, but now you can tell that the majority of them have no pride in the badge and their only pride is felt when they go to the bank on payday and see the money that they laughably claim that they earn. I work my damn arse off 5 days a week to earn what some of them earn in a day and they don’t bloody appreciate it. They seem to think that they can play utter wank and that no-one will notice. If we performed as badly as they do then we wouldn’t have a job anymore. I’d be prepared to bet that not once have they been called in for Sunday training as well, such is Schofield’s seemingly inexhaustible blindness to how shite the team are playing.

I now walk into games involving Lincoln expecting to be defeated because this team is absolutely wank and doesn’t deserve promotion. We won’t go up this year and we’ll be fighting against relegation next season. If the players don’t like what I’m saying then they can go and prove me wrong, but I’ve challenged them to do that several times in recent months and not once have they responded. I have already given up hope for this season because the players aren’t giving the fans any hope whatsoever.

Even if we do somehow fluke getting promoted, we’ll only be back in League 2 in 2008/9.
