Never has a local derby between Lincoln and Boston seemed more predictable than Wednesday's game at York Street, however, one has never been more threatening to the Imps. It's a case of 2nd vs 2nd bottom and on paper, you'd think this game was already an Imps win but the ultimate danger of being 2nd is then when you faced a team down where Boston are, then you get complacent and mistakes are made and then a certain Scottish manager might stay in his job just that tiny bit longer.
Saturday's victory at Wycombe was just the 3rd time in the league that City have fallen behind but for the second time in those 3 games, City came from behind to record a victory and it was a sign that things may finally be turning around for the Imps but ironically, Boston seem to be going backwards and they appear set to continue a trend, but we'll get back to that later.
It is the first in the run of 5 games that could be very profitable for the Imps as Hartlepool in 14th are the highest placed opponents we faced until our trip to Swindon at the end of October. One thing that is vital though is that we don't get less than 11 points at the very minimum.

Stallard showed he can play through the pain on Saturday and he should still be fine for Wednesday night and it will be a huge surprise if it isn't the same starting line up

Boston were getting off to a great start to the season, taking a surprise 2-0 lead at Grimsby Town, however, Peter Bore changed the game for the hosts and in the space of a few minutes, Grimsby had turned the game around and came out 3-2 winners. A few days later and just when Lincoln want the Pilgrims' to win, Simon Yeo scores a goal from 3 inches (something he rarely managed for the Imps) to give Peterborough a 1-0 win at York Street.
They battered Darlington a few days later that saw their fans hope the season was about to turn around but just 7 days after beating Darlo 4-1, they were smashed 5-0 at Shrewsbury Town before a 1-0 defeat at Brighton in the Carling Cup. The same scoreline separeted them from MK Dons a few days later before another reserve at Hartlepool, this time a 2-1 reserve.
Whether you can call a 2-1 win over struggling Stockport County a surprise is relative argument but the win was absolutely vital to the fact they were quickly falling down the league and it would have been 2 wins in a row if Guiliano Grazioli hadn't scored a last minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw against Barnet.
A 2-1 defeat to shockingly poor Accrington was followed by a 3-0 defeat at home to Rochdale that was made even more irritating for Boston fans considering that Rochdale had only scored 3 times in their previous 9 games. That Rochdale result is probably a sign of the times for Boston as last season, they had beaten Rochdale 3-2 at York Street.
Kidderminster and Rushden have been relegated in the last two seasons, both in their 5th season of Football League and this is Boston's 5th and at this rate, you'd be hard pushed to find many people who wouldn't bet on it being 3 in a row.
