Unbeaten in the league since April Fools Day, 5 consecutive league away wins, top goalscorers in the football league, 3 consecutive wins at Gay Meadow and 3rd in the league, who else gets the feeling that they know what's going to happen next?
City are on a role at the minute after 2 easy league wins that have turned the Imps into likely playoff contenders to a team that could easily fight for automatic promotion but if we're to maintain this, we must get through two difficult games over the next two Saturday's with a visit from MK Dons next week and an extremely difficult trip to Shrewsbury Town.
For 90 minutes in the final away game at last season, Shrewsbury absolutely battered us but couldn't hit the target and we somehow score with one of our very rare attack, much like a reverse of the game at Sincil Bank earlier that season. If we avoid each other in the cups then this will be the Imps' last ever visit to Gay Meadow but can we end our visits of Gay Meadow with a 4th straight win there?

There's an interesting conundrum for Schofield and Deehan to solve and that is, with several regular first teamers returning from either suspension or international duty, do they return them straight to a squad that convincingly beat Accrington with very few problems. Despite scoring last week, Martin Gritton will more than likely find himself back on the bench as he is replaced by Amoo who will shift back into the right midfield position. Also, with Beevers pushing into midfield, it would mean that Mayo would move back to the left back position but will more than likely be replaced by Hughes.

Cast your minds back to last April and the Imps' trip to Shrewsbury Town, a game that City won, now you may not realise how vital that win was but if Shrewsbury had beaten us and the last day results hadn't changed, then Shrewsbury would have made the playoffs instead of the Imps. That's just how dangerous Shrewsbury Town can be and if City are to get a win, it will more than likely be the most hard-fought of the season so far.
Shrewsbury have got off to an average start to their season, winning 2 of their opening 5 games. It started with 2 draws against Nottinghamshire team. A 2-2 home draw against Mansfield was followed by a 1-1 draw at Notts County. Their first win came with a 2-1 victory in front of just 2,329 fans at Bury before a 5-0 victory over Boston with ex-Imp Derek Asamoah scoring his 4th and 5th goals in 180 minutes of football against the Pilgrims. A 1-0 defeat at Birmingham in the League Cup and then they lost by the same goalscorer at Bristol Rovers in their last match. Their local derby against Wrexham was postponed.
Shrewsbury have a good squad but the player who will strike the eyes of most Imps' fans is Derek Asamoah. The striker wasn't exactly a hit at Sincil Bank, scoring just twice in 15 months at Sincil Bank. Other players who will cause the Imps problems are Glynn Hurst, Ben Davies and Sagi Burton.
