I know it could potentially just be until 5pm on Saturday, but it's great to not only see the Imps in the automatic promotion places for the first time in 4 years and to see City in their highest position since December 1997. It may not last for long but it's fantastic to see the Imps challenging at the right of the table when most fans felt that midtable was the Imps' only destination this year.
I'm not entirely sure where to start with the rest of this report to be honest. I suppose I should start by saying to the players (who I know read this) that I am delighted with the season so far, I know I made the odd comment here and there about inviduals but as a team, the Imps are not just winning, but doing it in style. It's a pleasure to watch the Imps play football for once and long may it continue.
As for the game itself, it felt like a comfortable victory and every time the Imps came forward, we looked like scoring and for the majority of the game, didn't look like conceding, although often enough, Accrington's players looked like they were aiming for the river than the goal and even their goal came with a heavy deflection.
One worrying sign was that yet again, Schofield didn't look prepared to make a substitution until Stallard was injured towards the end of the game. Although substitutions aren't vital, there are certain players who have played every single minute so far this season and by the rate it's going, will play every minute until they're either injured or the season ends and that kind of physical demand will eventually catch up to the players. Also, it means that the people on the bench will not be ready for the vigurs of first team football if they're called upon.
All in all, it's was a good game for the Imps and despite the possibility of results not going the Imps' way tomorrow, it's still been great being in the automatic promotion places for the first time in a LONG LONG time and let's hope we're there in 40 games time.

Marriott- 8 - Didn't have an awful lot to do but made some great saves during the game. He also had no chance with the goal, the only disappointment being that the goal took away a deserve clean sheet.
Paul Mayo - 7 - Improving recently and he put in a few quality balls, if he can learn to keep it on the ground then he'd be a good player.
Lee Beevers - 7 - Quite solid, did what he needed to do with few mistakes.
Paul Morgan - 7 - Had nothing to do to be honest.
Adie Moses - 8 - Excellent through and if it weren't for him, Stanley might have had a few more shots on target.
Nicky Eaden - 8 - Solid Performance but should have capped it off with a goal.
Scott Kerr - 9 - Excellent in midfield and had a hand in all the goals.
Lee Frecklington - 7 - Bit quiet but didn't make any mistakes so can't complain.
Martin Gritton - 9 - He was a surprise addition to the starting line up but took his goal very well and looked handy all night. Maybe now we're finally seeing with Keith Alexander brought him.
Jamie Forrester - 10 - It was like watching his debut all over again and the only thing missing was a goal.
Mark Stallard - 9 - Lucky with the first goal but second was very well taken, finally started linking up with Forrester and got in a good performance before next week's visit to his former club.
Oliver Ryan - 6 - 6 by default as he came on too late to make an impact.
"Excellent build up play for the three goals. At times i thought we over-played a little, taking one pass to many when we could have had an attempt on goal. All in all a solid performance it has to be said." Lincoln Imp
