What is it abot Lincoln playing well, making a substitution and then playing like headless chickens after that? During the first half, we looked like a team capable of securing promotion, we passed it around well and were unlucky not to go into the break having scored at least scored 3 goals but as soon as we started making substitutions, it all fell apart and we became a long ball side again which was the most frustrating thing out of everything.
Back to the positives though, our football in the first half was excellent with the ball rarely leaving the deck during open play and we were running rings around County. We created several very good oppurtunities and if luck was on our side, we would have won convincingly. The defence also didn't look like conceeding very often and restricted County to few shots on target although in typical Alan Marriot style, one shot on target is enough for the opposition to score.
Another pleasing thing was that Schofield tried to change tactics and in the second half, Notts County were bossing the midfield and he reverted from a 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 and despite it not working to an extent, it was still pleasing to see a tactics change for once.
One of the most worrying things about this draw is it continues City's run of not winning at home since the 5-0 win over Grimsby Town, since then we've had five 1-1 draws in the last five hom games. A point on the first day is still a good result but still inevitably disappointing fter we dominated the second half and now we face an exceedingly difficult away trip to Hereford.

Alan Marriott - 4 - Had very little to do and looked very unsteady when called upon and his position for the goal (even though it was an OG) should have been better.
Lee Beevers - 6 - Tried hard throughout the match but struggled to get the ball clear in the 2nd half. Should also have scored in the first half.
Adie Moses - 7 - Was the only new player to impress me personally. He looks a rock at the back and it's always nice to get a goal on your debut.
Paul Morgan - 5 - Made a great tackle in the first half but was often too slow in getting rid of the ball and marking was slack.
Jeff Hughes - 5 - Not the best game for Jeff and despite not doing a lot wrong, he stil seemed to struggle to get an control on his distribution and gave the ball away too often..
Lee Frecklington - 6 - Had a quiet game by the standards he's set himself but he didn't put a foot wrong but should have taken more time with his shot in the second half but overall, not a bad start to the season.
Scott Kerr - 7 - Struggled with a knock for most of the match before going off but again played quite well and was arguably the best player on the pitch for City.
Ryan Amoo - 3 - Distribution was shockingly bad and after the first 20 or so minutes of the match, he made virtually no effort to do anything apart from watch a ball that could easily have been reached, go out of play. I'd love to know what the match sponsers were drinking when they gave him Man of the Match.
Mark Stallard - 4 - If he hadn't had a weak shot in the second half, you wouldn't have noticed him playing. Rarely got involved and I'd be surprised if the amount of times he touched the ball entered into double figures.
Jamie Forrester - 5 - Distributed the ball well but very rarely threatened the County goal. Not a bad performance but not the type that inspires confidence.
Danny Bacon - 7 - Great effort from Bacon and he appeared to be trying to well and he succeeded. He could yet turn out to be our most vital player.
Ryan Semple - 2 - What is it about players we signed from Peterborough? Keith Alexander must be laughing his head off about getting rid of Semple. Everytime he touched the ball, it just went 40 yards up the field, even if he was trying to pass it to someone 5 yards away and quite frankly, if he handed come on, we'd probably have won this game. Maybe he's just not ready considering he's come just come back from injury but he'll definately need to improve.
Colin Cryan - 6 - Was his typical steady self and looked very reliable when he came on. It was typical Colin Cryan really.
Paul Mayo - 6 - Now everyone knows that Mayo will never be the best player at Sincil Bank but for a group of moronic fans to boo him when coming onto the pitch says it all about some Lincoln fans. He put some great crosses into the box and looked comfortable out of position and didn't deserve to be booed.

"First half at times we were excellent, especially the first 20 minutes. Bacon has missed a good chance, then a tidy finish by Moses, followed by a sitter from Beevers. It was really pleasing us working the ball and creating the openings. 2nd half - credit to Notts County they game at us second half, Mendes for Lee gave them more life up front and they deserved the equaliser. Parkinson also got in the game more, and they had us penned in. Just have to hold your hands up and say yep a draw was a fair result and there was little we could do to prevent that. What I can't tolerate is a section of the Stacey West who were boo-ing Schofield's subs, yet 4-3-3 wasn't working at the time and we did look better going back to 4-4-2. Christ this is his first game in charge with a new direction of change in the playing front." jimmy blee
"It fair to say I was giving him (Jason Lee) a bit of grief today and was warning the ref to watch his elbows WHEN...............He goes and smacks one right in the face of Danny Bacon looked a deliberate act to me right in front of the linesman who never gave a thing. Bloody shocking and LEE has made a career out of this style of play the bloke is a disgrace" Rob Peel
"Despite not winning, he (Schofield) did change the system when Mayo came on and I thought it showed some tactical awareness, he went to 4 in the middle IMO because County were overrunning us in midfield we did get back into the game a little bit more from that point on, but never really looked like winning. Keep it going Schoey it will come good." old man
