| For Zippy - The Warriors Battle 12-01-04 By Karl Jones (aka Exile) Few in Wales wanted a merger all had pride in their colours and teams To run out for your town on a weekend was a mainstay of all schoolboy's dreams. But the truth was all too apparent when Wales lost 8 in a row that the standard of rugby in Wales had declined, down the regional road we must go. Some said 'we're too good to need mergers, and our clubs, they must stand alone.' In truth I don't think any were happy, everyone had a bit of a moan. So after much weeping and wailing, tantrums and lawyers and @!#$, we were left with two clubs and three regions and told to 'get on with it.' Our merger has been hardly easy we've argued and bickered it's true but now we're starting to settle, and don't want our Warriors blue. The Blues never wanted a merger, they told us 'no way or no how' well we never wanted one either and we don't want another one now So to all of you boys down in Cardiff I've a few words of wisdom for you. Stand alone was what you wanted, so now you can sink alone to. For more of Exile's poetry click here |
