Veteran full back Chris Powell has shocked West Ham by rejoining his previous club Charlton Athletic in a one year deal. Powell's move follows ex Addicks team mate Paul Konchesky's arrival at Upton Park last week. Powell has claimed that he was being offered a deal which was financially worse than his original contract that he signed on his Hammers arrival in September 2004.
