The Northampton Saints team has been named for Sunday’s Aviva Premiership Round 4 trip to London Irish
The match day 23 shows just the one change from that which earned a four-try bonus point win over Bath last time out, with Sam Dickinson coming in for Teimana Harrison (shoulder).
Dylan Hartley (hand), Mitch Eadie (ankle) and Piers Francis (jaw) are the other significant injury absentees, although Hartley and Francis are close to full fitness. Tom Wood and Stephen Myler have been in full training this week and are among the travelling reserves.

Understand keeping a winning side. But i can't see too many better opportunities to integrate some of the new lads, ford Robinson springs to mind from thread below, even if to use from the bench for 20 to get them some involvement
We can’t go into this with too much arrogance, Irish last two games have not been good but have been away. Our home form has been good but we need to take that away with us. We are missing several influential players and the Irish pack looks to be relatively tough but we should be more mobile. Saints should be favourites but could be a potential banana skin.
Definitely not a time to rest and rotate, a couple more weeks in possibly but we need to back up the last 2 weeks with another performance. The team has a settled look to it which is good. Treat LI with the respect they deserve and perform as we have we should win
Jokes aside what are we going to do at 8 is Dickinson gets injured / when he goes off? Can Ribbans catch a high ball? From what else I’ve seen he could do a handy job there and seems intelligent
Reckon Ludlam will get a good run at 8 during the second half but I back Sam D to put in a solid shift. Moving Patterson to the back row with Day in the second row is another option.
I hope big Sam does recover the form of a few season's ago when he was being touted as a possible for England. He needs to as he only has a short term contract with Saints. Of all the 23 he really needs to show what he can do.
Im not convinced a little bit of rotation is treating London Irish lightly. Certainly in ford Robinson's case he toured with England and was a player to come out of Bristol's relegation season with merit. It's not like chucking in academy players in it.
JFR gives one big problem but can be one big benefit...he can play on both sides of the scrum.
It’s quite possible that the current props have stepped up their games too.
As for rotation, many of us will remember the time saints went to Irish thinking turning up was all that was needed...they got battered!
This is Irish’s first true home game and will want to make their home games a target to win.
alwayshopeful Where did the thread with our team go?
Which thread?
There was a prior thread that had our team listed, I actually posted a reply to it.. its now vanished and I'm pretty certain I didnt delete it!
This one has the team in it!
I'm doing the teams up as a news article now to help keep the site alive, there was another thread posted slightly after but it had no responses so it went, you must have posted while I was deleting it
