A really QUINFULL weekend it was as we approached the Christmas period. Two events took place being the long awaited Club dinner and the equally long awaited AGM. Patience is a virtue and the wait was indeed worthwhile. QUINS DINNER

A very packed Hong Kong restaurant saw a well organised and well attended dinner by the Quins faithful celebrate their highs and lows of the past two years. Our guest of honour was non other than Kenya's first and finest professional player former Leeds (Rugby League) winger now Kenya 7's team manager Eddie "the eagle" Rombo.

Rombo who received a standing ovation after his address to the congregation did not mince his words when it came to describing what the present generation of young rugby upstarts need to do in order to reach the top level. BHW (Bloody Hard Work) was his theme of the night. Rombo acknowledged that no other club in Kenya had a richer tradition and heritage (and class) like Kenya Harlequin.

The reply came from another rugby exile in the form of Jeff Anampiu (finally returning to Kenya from Tanzania) . Jeff indeed applauded the youth of Kenya Harlequin who have been developing and moving on to the first ream with great success.

Awards for the night were:

Young Player of the year 2004 - Sidney Ashioya
Most Valuable Player of the year 2004 - Allan Makaka
Honours Caps 2004 Allan Khakame and Judd Thumbi

Young Player of the year 2005 - David Mogere
Most Valuable Player of the year 2005 - Sidney Ashioya
Honours Caps 2005 Gordon Argo (posthumous) and Kiragu Ngunya

Earlier in the day a Wazee (old) vs Vijana(young) game went the way of the Wazee who pumped the Vijana 52-6.

The night found Quins faithful in the following places where they proceeded to get very tired - Florida One (F1), Crooked Q, Club Afrique, Sohos, Pavement, Choices and finally HOME. Congrats to those who survived the night without being captured by he long arm of the law.

The following day after the Quins dinner an equally packed clubhouse oversaw the AGM.

The immediate task of the club officials is to get the club back on a sound and firm financial footing and the review of the outdated club constitution to reflect the changes that have taken place within recent times as per the game of rugby.

We wish the new committee all the best and thank the previous committee for their contribution.

Special mention to overseas me member Absaloms AB Juma for his regular monthly contribution of Kshs 1,500 to the club. This was aside his membership dues and we urge more members to engage in philanthropy the way AB did in the past year.
