The decks were cleared as Quins hammered Falcons 54-26 and fond farewells were expressed to Mike Brown and nine others. Now the coaching team concentrate on carrying on that great form against Bristol on Saturday.

The temptation to rest a host of first teamers against Falcons was resisted and we will go into Saturday's semi off the back of a resounding victory.

By contrast the Bears had a week off as covid hit their game against Irish. Is it better to have a rest or be match sharp  - we will find out.

Quins: Tries: Kenningham, Care 2, Green, Lynagh, Marchant, Landajo, Gray.

 Cons: Smith 5, Marchant, Tapuai

Newcastle: McGuigan 2, Radwan, Blamire

Cons: Connon 2, Hodgson
