Marcus Smith once again showed his England potential with a marvellous match winning try to bolster the Quins quest for the all important play-off place as they kove uip to third. Irish 21 Quins 25.

Quins were down to 14 after Andre Esterhuizen was red card early in in the second half after an elbow caught Curtis Rona in the face.

Mike Brown and Cadan Murley crossed for Quins in the first half with Irish respomsideng with three penalties.

After the sending off Irish scored theior first try with Loader breaking down the right wing.

Ollie Hassell-Collins then put his side further ahead after a rarte mistake from Marcus Smith whose careless  offload was seized upon.

However,  he more than made amends when hekicked a penalty to the corner and then danced round five Irish defenders to score the winning try from the resulting line-out.

After the game Nick Evans told the media:  "With Marcus, if you put six in front of him with that amount of spac, he's pretty good at beating people.

"For him to really back himself and go for it in a big moment like that is great learnings from him and great maturity, so I'm pretty proud of him for that.

"It was a weird old game. It was pretty loose at times, pretty inaccurate, but it was nice to come away with the result."
