Our next Meet the…….... evening will be with ex England Captain & British Lion, the current President of Harlequins, Bob Hiller.
With the British & Irish Lions amazing victory in Australia still fresh in our minds, it is indeed a special honour to welcome Bob to speak at our next Event. As well as regaling us with tales of the Lions of yesteryear, he will be comparing the life of the modern day professional with that of an international player in the sixties and seventies.
For those who don’t know, Bob was a double Blue at Oxford, excelling in both rugby and cricket. He then went on to play for Harlequins, England (1968 & 1972) and toured with the Lions to South Africa and New Zealand. Playing at full back, he gained 19 caps for England and captained the side 7 times, including an historic first victory over South Africa in 1969. As President of Harlequins, Bob follows in the illustrious footsteps of some of rugby’s greatest exponents, who were also ‘Mighty Quins’, including Sir Wavell Wakefield and Adrian Stoop.
The evening will be held in the Debs' Bar (Jester Suite) in the Etihad Stand, doors will open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. It will be free for members and £3 for non-members.
So we know rough numbers can you let Sarah (sarah@quinssa.org.uk) know whether you are planning on coming to the evening.
