The Harlequins A team have had a good start to the season and appear to have many promising prospects for the future. Harlequins A started the season well by beating London Irish 37-10, losing by a fraction to Saracens 21-25 and then headed off to Gloucester last week, winning 14-45.
This week we welcome back Karl Dickson after he gained an injury in the Middlesex 7's and Matt Cairn's takes a front row starting position after the recent signing from Saracens to make his debut. Sam Stitcher is also making his debut after playing for Esher in the past few weeks.
Toby Quarandon is part of our Academy EPDG group and is a schoolboy at Cranleigh School, as well as Ollie Richards who is also part of our Academy EPDG group and is a schoolboy at Brighton College. Chris Rose is part of our Academy AASE group at Richmond College and we hope they get the opportunity to show us their ability tonight.
Bath are coming to Harlequins fresh as they didn't play last week, however their recent form isn't one to boast about. They only beat Wasps at the beginning of the season by two points and then have had two losses on the bounce against London Irish and Saracens. This isn't to say that they weren't close fixtures, which means that Harlequins will have to be on their guard as Bath could still, very much be a challenge.

Good to see Karl Dickson back playing again.

I see you're on a liquid diet there then!!!

There's a couple of vans usually do beer and hotdogs/burgers. The van beer is usually black, brown or yellow but is quite OK as I remember. The clubhouse is very nice but a long way from the pitch, does Pride as far as I can recall.

No report on who scored our 5th try, the message said a Quins player in the gloom on the other side of the pitch!

Apparently we keep making good yards, get into a scoring position and fluff it.

Then again we have already scored 5 tries so perhaps a bit of lack of concentration

35-25, we let Bath score again. That's full time

Dickson did look good, but possibly the stand out for me was Lewis Stevenson. Aston got the first try but no idea which forward got the 5th. It wasn't so much the concentration going as Bath looking much better in the second half.

The pack played very well, including the subs, plus Chris Brooker played about 30 minutes on the blindside. Seb Jewell also had a cracking game, and now I think about it maybe he would have pipped Stevenson for MOTM.

OLH also showed some great stepping and pace on several occasions. Ross Chisholm was the kicker for the evening , and I think he got 4 from 7.

They didn't have a back row replacement on the bench and I assume they wanted to give everyone some game time.

Sounds like a good game... Aiming to actually make the last two and hopefully see us in the final at this rate..!

OLH looked excellent, josh very quick. cairns almost scored the try of the match, picking it up off his toes then going on a mazy, and very quick run, before being hauled down just short. good display in the first half, struggled in the 2nd, either due to our lack of concentration, subs breaking up continuity, but mainly due to bath getting their act together. scrum looked good, but at times tried to walk it over the line, following the earlier penalty try, when maybe the ball should have gone down the line

good performance though, some positive signs for the years to come

I wouldn't read too much into it from a Bath perspective. You scored tries and the score wasn't a blowout despite the fact that the Quins side was a lot more experienced and most of the younger players are further along in their development than yours.

Charlieboa - in addition to JG's comments, Bath were completely pulverised in the scrum all match by what was by and large a much more exprienced pack, but in the loose there was not so much in it. I thought your No 8 looked a good aggressive ball carrier, while 15 had an off day and made a lot of handling errors.

thanks chaps. average age of the front 5 must have been about 20 so not surprised they struggled, with the 2 second rows not even being in our academy.

ed jackson the number 8 is 20/21 now should be looking the part in these A team games.
