Quins picked up where they left off last season in the premier Kenya Cup league by dismissing University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine 26-3. After a slow 1st 1/2 that saw both teams tied 3-3 at the breather, Quins picked up the tempo & scored 4 tries, securing their 1st bonus point victory of the season
Quins try scorers were Namcos Simiyu, Patrick Onyango and Sidney Ashioya (captain) with a brace. Leslie Libasia former Mean Machine captain made his Kenya Cup debut for Quins at the back of the scum with a very solid workmanlike performance. Top of the league is where we start and that’s where we would like to finish.

This weekend sees Quins make a foray to the untidy Railway ground where Quins will face their bogey team of recent times Mwamba RFC. Last Season saw Quins lose a controversial game to Mwamba in a game that was stopped 4 minutes before time much to the chagrin of their supporters. So there are plenty of unfinished issues between the two clubs as there is no love lost between the two sides.

Furthermore the stakes are raised as the two clubs have been placed in the same franchise in the forth coming Super Series tournament. Definitely the stakes are high this weekend as the game serves as an unofficial trial game. Mwamba coach Manuel Okoth replaced Quins coach Tom Odundo at national level so the animosity stretches from the pitch to the technical bench and right into the bar where Mwamba were recently in a plot to try and take over the Quins tenancy at the RFUEA.

This is one game that is not for the fainthearted and a must watch for the Quins family. Lets all be their to rally behind the club. The game is for Quin and country.

The seconds play Mwamba ll after their game against JKUAT aborted last week.

Good luck to both teams. Lets all be there from 3pm.

On a more serious note this is an appeal for members who did not pay their last year’s subscriptions and any new members in place to come forward and make the payments. We have a long season ahead of us and we need to sustain the club. Forms are at the club or on request will be sent online to you.

Members who paid last year will renew their membership after the 12 month period has expired from the date of payment.

Donations from well wishers are encouraged as well.

Bring in new members as well and let them know Quins is the place to be.

 

One for the week

A certain Quins player was not picked for last week’s game as he had an injury. On further enquiry about the injury we were informed that he needed time for his newly placed tattoo to heal and dry up. The tattoo which was placed on his behind was a valentine gift. What is the game coming upto these days??????
