The boys are not making it easy for us this season. Another nail biting match against our old rivals Harlequins ends up all square. Ed's diary – 7th April 2004

London Irish 15 – 15 Harlequins

The boys are certaily not making things easy for us this season, this was heart stopping stuff. With one minute of normal time left we were 12 – 8 up and looked to have the game in the bag. Quins then split our defence open with a long pass and went over the line. With the try converted we went into injury time three points down. Full credit to the boys they kept their nerve and managed to get a penalty in the 3rd minute of injury time whch Barry slotted over to level the score. I can’t remember when I was last so drained after listening to a game.

In Paddy Lennon’s match report for the A game he referrs to seven players who had played their last game and were leaving. No announcement has yet been made but speculation on the board is rife.

The site has been redesigned. Between work and a rather hectic social life I didn’t get much done to prepare for the change. To compound things the switch was made just before I went away for a few days, initial reaction by some was quite hostile. I’ve now had a full day to work on things, it’s looking a lot better. I’m running a poll asking what people think of the new site layout. Interestingly since the changes I made yesterday it now seems to be swinging round to showing a positive response. Only time will tell.

Worcester have earned promotion to the ZP. I do hope this is not the case but I can’t help feeling they’ll struggle in the same way as Roth did this season.

No game this weekend. As it’s Easter I’m off to Spain for a long weekend.
