The Craic creates T-Shirt!

A couple of months ago we were approached by DumpTackle.com to see if we would let them advertise on our site. The approach was different from every other one I've seen in my nearly 15 years at the site. The guys running the company said they were, and actually appeared to be, rugby supporters. As a consequence we let them advertise their wares here and came to an arrangement for The Craic denizens to create a T-Shirt design for DumpTackle...

The competition was initially fairly quiet but eventually people started chipping-in and we got a fair few good entries, the guys at DumpTackle picked their favourite three and we put it to the vote as to which one would win.

The winning design was the slogan "100 % Not Not", embracing the nickname so many other teams' support seem to think is clever. I was quite surprised, since the name seems to annoy a lot of people but I think the idea of claiming the monicker as our own is actually a really good one. Here is the end product:

100% Not Not Shirt

The shirt is now available to buy at the DumpTackle website along with a couple of other more generic LI-themed shirts and a load of general-rugby humourous shirts. There is also a 15% discount available to our readers - please quote THECRAIC15 when placing your order. I would imagine if you're short a present for a rugby supporter in your life that DumpTackle might have something that would work.

Embarrassingly, but rather fittingly, the competition winner was MickeyMouse, who has recently been doing a lot of the editor duties around here. It wasn't a fix - the DumpTackle guys didn't (and until now I suspect, don't) know he was one of our editors and I didn't attribute any of the finalists in the vote thread. The slogan was a winner by miles, Michael should receive his winning shirt in the post before Christmas so hopefully he'll sport it at the Boxing Day game for us to marvel at!

In the interest of transparency I have to say that I'm getting a freebie too for organising the competition, it wasn't arranged up-front (Dave simply asked for my address once we had the winner) and I've previously never accepted anything for editing this site but I've been doing this a while with absolutely no reward. I hope this doesn't upset anyone too much.

Like it, but it's shame there aren't 50% and 0% options, as many of us fall into those categories. Missed opportunity to sell a lot more tee shirts!

Personally I've always described myself as a not-not-not
Not London
Not Irish
Not bothered

Never found the banter offensive - anyone who does must be pretty thin skinned.
