In a bid to make The Craic work more effectively we put out a call for new site Eds. To our amazement people actually responded and so we have a new set of editors. Read all about it!
Over the years The Craic has had a number of site editors. Historically we've always had three but in recent years we dropped to two - bisach and Griff. That meant a lot of things got missed, the site went offline due to a lack of content and generally it's all become a bit run-down. Hopefully the jump to five will give us the coverage that has, perhaps, been lacking of late, get historic articles updated and give the existing editors a bit more free time!
After the call to arms last week we happily received three applications to join the, frankly, thankless task of a site editor here. I'll let them introduce themselves below.
In no particular order, first is Tjobbe:
---
I'm Tjobbe, and I'm only here because I was promised higher levels of power and now I have them I am looking forward to ruling with an iron fist.
I'm a website designer / developer by trade, working in London but living in leafy Oxfordshire. Have been an Irish fan for well over 15 years now. No Irish blood in the family, I'm actually half-Dutch but Irish were the first team I ever saw "live". In my spare time I take photos, go on bike rides, watch rugby and drink cider.
---
Followed by MickeyMouse:
Hello, I'm MickeyMouse, I live in Wokingham and am a proud Not Not and one of the Reading 4!
I'm a Manager in a large Outsourcing Managed Services company, people question whether I can actually type at the 77 words per minute I claim I can, so this seemed a good use of these skillz! I ended up being a London Irish supporter after saying "we should really go watch a match" after England lifted the 2003 World Cup, I had no idea there was a team based in Reading! Enjoyed it so much I was a fully paid up season ticket holder within a couple of years, done plenty of away matches and a full Europe tour once (apparently, it's a bit hazy!)
---
Finally SamB, who has been helping-out behind the scenes for a little while:
---
Hi, I'm Sam and I'm delighted to be joining the Craic as an editor. I was initially dubious but, upon seeing the six figure salaries bisach and Griff earn from this, I was keen to get on board.
I have been following Irish for over 20 years (my first game was against a Romanian representative XV during which Mr Gary Halpin throttled a screaming Romanian) and have held a season ticket from Sunbury to the Stoop and on to the Madjeski. I was an enthusiastic player myself, but gave it up a few years back to (unsuccessfully) preserve my joints. I am a Deputy Headteacher and a very proud father ( for the past 9 days ). I am also a devout Brentford fan, a keen SC Olhanense supporter (a trait shared with Parma Jack) and a social follower of Surrey CC.
---
I look forward to working with them to make this site as good as it can be and thank them for volunteering, welcome chaps!
PS: We told Sam it was a 7 figure Salary ... "FECK ALL". Although I suppose that's actually 8 if you count the space.
Brilliant! Welcome, lads, so pleased that someone is prepared to help ol' Bisach and Griff who have been doing such a sterling job (largely unrecognised) for years and years and years.
Supporting London Irish should be a relay, not a marathon or a sprint, so it is always great to find people taking up the baton for the benefit of everyone.
(On the other hand, I know where Bill and Griff live and could always threaten to send the boys around if they exercised editorial control over what I wanted to post!).
Thanks to Bill for everything he's done keeping this place going over the year would be awful to be like Glaws and not have anywhere to go for news of the club..... unless you look all over the web

What do you mean the offie
What!
TJOBBE!
TJOBBE ANDREWS!?
Who, only a decade back used to go around with loose women and was never a piddler's radius away from strong drink!?
Blimey............blimey.....
Good luck to the newbies and thanks for all the prior hard work to Griff (preusmably staying?) and to the departed Bisach (despite ignoring my MOTM nomination from Cardiff away a couple of seasons back... I'm not bitter, honest )
Many thanks guys for stepping up. Just remember if no one moans it means you are doing a brilliant job. You will get no more that that. Great to have you on board and well done Griff and Bill for many years service.
