Wasps stifled Ponty's plans to overturn a 15-point deficit to run out aggregate winners by 61-36. Tries by Worsley, Lewsey and Shaw wiped out a double chip and chase opener by Wyatt. Although Ponty's Sweeney scored another cutting try on half-time, Wasps killed the game in the 2nd half Wasps march on to the Parker Pen Challenge Cup final unbeaten in any leg of the competition. That ought to give Bath or Saracens something to think about as they forget about their the relegation struggles (if it still happens) in today's other semi-final second leg at the Recreation Ground.
Five armchair hacks drank their way through the game in the Truss (Truscott Arms - thanks Landlord Dave). Hunky, Nets, Willie B. and Saxon40 came to the conclusion during the third half that Eddie Butler is indeed barely Welsh; Leicester have lost it; and MacIntosh does not possess the hand of God and probably never had it. Loosehead was all misty eyed in the second half but he will comment and add photos later.
Waspies.net thanks Pontypridd for being wonderful hosts, all the best to you. Allez, thrice allez!
