Thoughts with Wasps players, staff and supporters.

Its always the supporters , the staff , the players etc that are affected and suffer from the decisions of others, others whose motives and veracity must be examined . All the best to you all , you will come back stronger.

I am really hoping Wasps get this sorted. All the best.

It's really not good.

Sadly I think most of the players will have to leave to find employment and a lot of backroom staff will be jobless.

The owners and board are to blame, nobody else.

I expect somebody to come in and pick up the assets after liquidation, along with CCFC.

I would fully expect next season to be playing out of the training ground at this rate, as the likely rent in Cov will be too high.

The focus of the new owners are likely to be the assets and CCFC, Wasps will be let go.

Very sad news indeed !

Regardless of all the verbal boxing that has been going on in the other threads .... this comes down to a lot of good men and women potentially losing their jobs, income etc and we should never lose sight of that however much we as supporters feel we are affected .

A very sad day and thanks for the support from fans from other clubs. After getting divorced last year and moving house from the family home of over 20 years, rugby has been one of my saving graces, despite wasps throwing away a number of winnable games. With my family issues, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, and the current financial situation, it really feels as this is one if not the final straw. Clearly there have been some very bad decisions made and financial mismanagement. Thoughts with all those players and staff who may be affected by this issue. Fingers crossed we can salvage something of a team from it.

Thanks for your kind words. Fully expected this to happen but it is still a bitter pill to swallow. Now clinging to the hope a buyer can be found quickly and relegation (or worse) avoided. Thoughts especially with all players and staff, season ticket holders (and yes, bond holders) who have been let down.

Very sorry to hear this news but it has seemed to be on the cards for sometine. As a Warrior I know what you are going through. Lets hope that solutions can be found in both our cases. At le ast you have your players until the end of the month at the earlist.

We have to rebuild. The three bids I was aware of all involved buying the stadium and no interest in rugby. Armstrong claimed to but with Venture Capital backers they wuld have no loyalty or long term interest in Wasps. So we can't have 160 years of history destroyed.

Hey ho. I think those of us who were there got a lifetime's worth of joy watching Wasps during the 90s and 2000s. If this does prove to be the end of the professional club, at least it had that in its history.

Feel for everyone connected to the club who now face uncertainty and stress.

I have not posted on here for many years. It is an absolute choker for all the players, employees and fans of the club.

Its also a disaster for club rugby. Two less teams to play impacts the finances of all the other clubs, diminishes the TV deal and potentially the revenue driven from that.

Our best players will find homes at other clubs and that will impact their squad players who may lose their jobs.

It goes on and on.

Irish and Ealing merging? Interesting idea.

Wasps and Ealing in the same division? I clearly prefaced my remarks with IF! Even IF Ealing are promoted and Wasps relegated I wouldn’t expect any Wasps support. Of course littlematt and others would stay loyal.

No special treatment for Wasps means no special treatment for Ealing or anyone else.

Good luck to Kent wasp with finding an 18k stadium. You”ll need a billionaire for that, not a mere millionaire.

But that’s true for any other Sporting club, or indeed any other walk of life. Doesn’t stop us from trying though.

If you follow our fate and go into administration and get relegate to the Championship, then as long as promotion stays, it could not be as bad as you think.

We were in the league in 2015 with Bristol and we had a great season. You extinguish your debts and get the chance to come back up debt free.

According to Wikipedia, your old club house at Sudbury still stands, I guess among the houses built on the ground. It is classed as "still the spiritual home" of the club. Is this true do you guys still visit and use it? If the worst happens do you think you will see if you can start again by playing at Vale Park, 2000 seats?

Didn’t know about that. I went round after they had built the housing estate decades ago just to see the rugby names of the roads, but it was too depressing. I used to man the barricades to the tiny car park, if the fields were too wet to use.
Never had call to be in that area since as I moved away.
