Two games to go and the battle for a top eight European qualifying place is getting interesting . Our final games are against the sides immediately above us - Irish away and Tiggers at home.
Bath and Gloucester are also well in the mix just below us so two wins are required.
We came close at Saints, eventually going down 30-25, with efforts Dan Robson, a cracker created by Thomas Young, and Brad Shields kept us right in the game.
Dan Biggar put Saints 23-17 ahead before Tom Wood was allowed a lucky try - the TV officiial deciding there hadn't been a knock on in the line-out.
The consolation was a Tim Willis try which gave us the losing bonus which put us just in front of Bath.

Incredibly tense indeed and I suspect we may only know who finishes the league at 6th/7th/8th (and qualifies for the HC) at around 16:40 on the 12th of June.
With the Gloucester v Bath Covid cancellation and the expected 4/2 point split in favour of Bath, Wasps drop to 10th in the league (Gloucester ahead on PD).
Looking at the remaining fixtures for teams between 6th & 11th and taking into account today’s Covid cancellation, the current standing & outlook is:
6. Leicester (48 points):
- Bristol (H)
- Wasps (A)
I expect Leicester will lose a tight game against a Bristol side who will be determined to finish the league in poll position, which means Leicester will go to the Ricoh with all guns blazing in the last round.
7. Bath (47 points):
- Northampton (H)
With Bath being gifted a 4 point Covid win, I can see them winning their last (home) game against a Northampton side who have nothing to gain or lose (unless Leicester beat Bristol this week). Bath to end with 51/52 points.
8. Irish (44 points):
- Wasps (H)
- Bristol (A)
I expect Irish will lose against Bristol which means from their perspective they must secure a win against us this weekend to stand any chance of making top 8 (assuming the game goes ahead).
9. Gloucester (43 points):
- Worcester (A)
Gloucester will need a win at Sixways to keep their slim hopes of a Top 8 finish.
10. Wasps (43 points):
- Irish (A)
- Leicester (H)
Must wins - Period.
11. Newcastle (39 points):
- Worcester (H)
- Harlequins (A)
Realistically Newcastle are out of contention for Top 8 as they’re unlikely to beat Harlequins at The Stoop ... but they are mathematically still in the race.
It’s still all to play for, with 6 teams chasing a 6th/7th/8th spot on June 12th.
