What goes around comes around - so next season we will win every game in the last minute. Our exit from the Champions Cup could not have been more dramatic if Jed Mercurio had written the script.

We butchered several opportunities,  so perhaps others might argue we got what we deserved in going down 27-25.

Matteo Minozzi corssed after making a great break but somehow managed to lose control as he went to touch down with one hand. Paolo Odogowu was judged to be in touch after he appeaerd to put in a great finish and, more genuinely, Tommy Taylor's effort was chalked off for a forward pass.

Balance that with a try for Clermont prop Ravai beneath a mass of bodies. The  Ref gave it but the video evidence was not there to show why he came to that conclusion..

And let's look at the final matchwinning try -the 84 th minute score by Matsushima. A TMO review would surely have spotted the forward pass from Morgan Parra to Fritz Lee as the ball was moved out wide.

Sour grapes. Yes undoubtedly and, to be frank, if we'd taken our chances we would not have needed to taste them.

For the record: Odogwu's early try was matched when Sebastien Bezy crossed for Clermont. The visitors took the lead in the first half from that controversial Peni Ravai try.

We drew level through Josh Barrett who went in at the posts, and we led 20-14 at the break after Umaga kicked two pens.

Harris went over in the corner soon after half-time. Umaga missed the con while Clermont reduced the gap to five points with two penalties from Lopez.

Then came that 84th minute sickener.
