Tom Cruse

On a poor day for the English Premiership Wasps managed an excellent 24-8 win against Dragons. It can't be denied that our hosts were missing a few regulars but any win in Wales is well worth having.

Dragons were forced into a reshuffle with six players withdrawn earlier in the day -  including with Covid releated issues so we should be thankful they soldiered on and the game was not called off.

We went on to earn a bonus-point start thanks to tries from Tom Cruse, Dan Robson, Jack Willis and Thomas Young.

Ther Dragons didnt help themselves when  they were reduced to 14.  Jarrod Rosser shown a yellow card for a no-arms tackle on Zach Kibirige as he raced down the touchline. It looked a harsh dewision as Kilbirge slipped into the tackle as he lined Rosser up  -but there's no room for sentiment in Champions Cup,  and we promptly took advantage - Tom Cruse going through a big gap inthe defence.

Our second came when Lima Sopoaga made ground before offloading to Josh Bassett. He dummied before moving the ball back inside to the excellent Dan Robson to cross under the posts.

Dragons kept on fighting , and stayed in the game thanks to a vintage bit of power from Jamie Roberts who sent Jonah Holmes in.

However, the pressure told against a tiring home side with Willis finishing off a driving maul, and Young running a good line to clinch that bonus point.

There'll be harder games - possibly against Montpellier this coming FRiday night kick off 8.00 pm. Although the French did lose 35-14 at home to Munster in their first round game.

Leinster.

I think we are in a good position to win 3 games - ideally with 2 more bonus points,

Even better if we go to Montpellier with them having lost the other games and win - 19 points should get us a home QF. That has to be the goal.

Not quite. All QFs are home and away. Just need to be in top 4 in the pool.

Think we have a really good chance of progressing and doing well.
