Thanks again due to RossM for his latest musings. A reminder - the site goes inactive if new stories or anecdotes don't get volunteered, so it's due to people like Ross you get the chance to point out whereeverything is wrong in the world.

I didn’t manage to watch the Amlin but it seems to have been an exhibition of a combination of Leinster flair and efficiency; pretty much what we’d expect after their over powering display at Adams Park in the semi.

I really enjoyed the final of the Heiny and though I was disappointed for Kinga that Clermont lost, all credit to Toulon for holding on and ultimately coming good.  I wonder if Gats has a mind to add St. Jonny to the Lions squad?  Kinga, after the match put it succinctly and graciously (as usual): "If I was Warren Gatland, I would take Wilkinson tomorrow because he is a matchwinner. We've seen it throughout his whole career. If the Lions want to win the Test series they've got to have players like that in their squad, simple as that." Team mate Matt Giteau felt likewise. "I've never seen anyone train and work as hard, not for himself but for the team. It's great for me that he's not going on the Lions tour. I'm an Australian."

Now for the Premiership final this weekend – play offs, love ‘em or hate ‘em – there will be plenty of people watching, both live and in an armchair (that’s me). I’m a true neutral, though I would prefer a Saints’ win, if only because it means a new name on the trophy and after all they did stuff Sarries.

Also, don’t forget Bedford v Newcastle – a two game home and away final on the evenings of 23^rd and 29^th May, with the first leg being a home fixture for the Blues. I wonder what will happen if Bedford spoil Deano’s party and come out on top? BTW: Bedford are coached by the ex Wales international full back, Mike Rayer.  Apparently (according to Wikipedia) 'I’m going for a Mike Rayer', is rhyming slang for 'all dayer' i.e. to drink all day! Well after learning that, I’m abandoning my neutrality and am now firmly in the Bedford camp. C’mon the Blues :-)
