This is a very strong side. Power, pace and skill.

We need to see some good rugby - good support lines, players taking the ball at pace, quick ball at the rucks etc.

That's a strong looking team. Absolutely no disrespect to Jersey but we should win this one comfortably with such a strong team, so I will be turning up expecting to see a good performance from our lot. I imagine it will be another grinding first half to wear them down, seems to be the pattern at the moment.

Jersey "resting" a few key players in their small squad but I'm ever hopeful that they get enough possession to test the Falcons defence with ball in hand. They certainly won't turn up to aimlessly kick the leather off the ball. Watch out for the young Tight Head on the Jersey bench who is from Bishop Auckland and a genuine talent who will surely play in the premiership next season - he will probably boost the crowd by a few dozen family & friends. The key match up will be on the wing where Van Dam should certainly test Radwan's defensive skills. My flight via Southampton leaves Jersey at 7.10am in the morning so if the weather is kind hope to see a few old friends in the South Stand tomorrow. All the best cc

Cheers Mate my plane to Southampton just landed here in a F9 gale but should be good to go in the morning so after a couple of bumpy flights I look forward to a beer or two before the train down to Gatwick tomorrow night. The Jersey team left this morning and should be in Newcastle by now.

We did the exact opposite! Encouraging 1st half and then poor 2nd half.

thought when the subs came on we lost momentum and shape. Mind it was really cold sitting in the weststand. Glad to get home

They seemed to go to sleep for 20 minutes after the first try, very strange. Then they woke in & banged in another 3 tries before half time.

Was there a team order to not kick the ball away in the second half? Apart from Joel's clearance from our line when he first came on, I don't think any of our lot kicked the ball for about half an hour, even running it from our own 22.

The lads did what was needed without running risks of injuries or over tiredness which is important considering our next game against Ealing Travelagents is already looking like a season shaper.

I don't know about the injury risk part dickg, did you see Radwan towards the end? Charged full on into two Reds, and drove them both back several metres, but then went down as a result. He seemed ok after a couple of minutes, but steady on lad, seeing as he was just back from injury..! Great commitment, mind.

Bloody hell it was cold though...the lower attendance removed the usual penguin effect in the South Stand so it was a bit of an endurance trial on Saturday!

I thought the same at the time, there's your proof that he isn't ready for the big hits. When he got up however he just looked like he had been winded, which could happen to anybody, so I won't read too much into it.

It was a fantastic bit of work by Radwan as they had an overlap
Not only did he smother the guy in possession but he roped in another Red and shunted them goodly backwards!!

I read that very differently from you

I read it where Monkey was saying that was his first thought and worries but when Adam stood up the “however” part came in and he was winded.
