The football World Cup started last night. I'll put a more detailed blog up over the weekend, but we need an article today, so I thought I'd share some of my favourite tweets from last night as rugby fans commented on the Brazil v Croatia match.

"The referee needs to start picking up on these forward passes"

"The lineouts are all wrong"

"Croatia deserve at least a losing bonus point here"

"What would Cockers, Dimes or Mallinder have to say to these teams at half-time?" [Personally, I think Cockers would already have been sent to the stands]

"Rugby referees will never have that white spray, it'd prove they're not doing their jobs"

From a Bath fan, predictably. Could substitute many teams names into it: "watching Brazil vs Croatia is identical to watching Glawster RFC really. Both struggle to play anything resembling rugby"

My personal favourite, at half-time: "Wow, must have been a heck of a fight in the first half, both teams already down to 11 men!"

Not a rugby one, but funny nonetheless: "I just think nobody realises Masterchef is on the other side"
