Future in doubt?

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stig Tofting has been jailed for four months in his native Denmark after being found guilty of assault following a court appearance in Copenhagen, the Danish capital. Tofting's offence took place just after this summer's World Cup after Tofting assaulted the owner of the Cafe Ketchup restaurant in Copenhagen following a night out with the Danish squad after a 'World Cup reunion'.
It seems Tofting will appeal against the four month sentence although the maximum sentence that was possible was 18 months. Tofting's agent has said that Bolton Wanderers are totally behind Tofting and he will be back in training this week as it is a suspended sentence and he will fight for his first team place following his return from any term in prison.

Editor comment: Having met Tofting myself, I must say that he is a good bloke despite his reputation and it has been well documentated the problems he had to overcome as a child so there are obviously going to be 'rough edges'. I for one will be totally behind Stig when he returns in the white shirt.
