Stranraer's promotion hopes took a dent at the hands of Peterhead, but not without a fight.

The Blues started the match well and were the dominant side in the first half for long spells. However, they were unable to beak the deadlock despite some excellent play by Kevin Finlayson.

In the eighth minute Kevin Finlayson dispossesed Shaun McSkimming on the edge of Peterhead's penalty box, only to watch as is shot at goal went inches wide from only ten yards out.

Minutes later it was the turn of the Blue Toon to put Andy McCondichie under pressure when a Kevin Bain volley was tipped around the post by the Blues' number 1.

Finlayson almost got the opener directly from a corner, but was thwarted by an acrobatic save from 'keeper Paul Mathers.

Peterhead 's sustained pressure at this stage of the match finally paid-off when Bobby Duncan connected with a corner and managed to slip the ball to Iain Good who fired the ball into the Stranraer net.

Seconds from the end of the half Michael Moore hit the bar with a powerful shot.

The Blues tried to pick-up the pieces in the second half, but they were unable to get the equalizer they so dearly sought.

Seven minutes from full-time Peterhead increased their led. Andy Roddie took an inswinging corner that Graeme Stewart then passed onto Martin Bavidge who struck the ball low and hard past McCondichie.

Man of the Match- Kevin Finlayson; caused Peterhead a lot of headaches. Unfortunately, he was unable to score.

Overall Summary- The Blues failed to convert their chances in this match, and as a result dropped three points that might prove to be decisive at the end of the season.
